Nightmare on 13th Accessibility & Mobility Guide

At Nightmare on 13th, we want every guest to enjoy the thrill of our haunted attraction — safely, comfortably, and to the fullest extent possible. Because our facility was built long before ADA standards were established, certain areas of the attraction may pose challenges for those with mobility concerns. We’re actively working to balance accessibility with the immersive design and layout of our space.

Below is a breakdown of what to expect and how we aim to support all guests during their visit.

🔹 Historic Building Considerations

Our haunted attraction is housed in a legacy building with tight corridors, low lighting, uneven flooring, and themed elements that may limit full mobility access. While we’ve made thoughtful modifications where possible, some structural constraints remain due to safety, fire codes, and the nature of the experience.

We’ve created alternate accessible pathways in some areas, though not every room or scare zone can be included in these routes.

🔹 Navigating with Braces, Casts, or Crutches

Mobility aids such as braces, casts, or crutches are allowed inside. However, we strongly advise guests to assess their physical ability before entering. The attraction includes stairs, quick pacing, and jump scares — all of which can be physically demanding.

Staff members are not able to assist physically, so guests must be able to complete the experience independently or with the help of a personal companion.

🔹 Wheelchair Access

We welcome wheelchair users and strive to accommodate where possible:

  • Manual Wheelchairs:
These are permitted in accessible areas of the attraction. A companion is highly recommended, as our staff cannot push wheelchairs.

  • Electric Wheelchairs:
Due to safety concerns (tight turns, ramps, and themed flooring), electric wheelchairs are not permitted inside the haunted house itself. If you’re able to transfer to a manual wheelchair, we offer complimentary transfer chairs (18” seat width, 250 lb max) on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Please Note:
Our staff cannot lift, carry, or physically assist guests in wheelchairs.

🔹 Pacing Requirements

Nightmare on 13th is a live-action experience with timed spacing between groups. All guests must keep pace to maintain the flow of the show and avoid bottlenecks.

If your group needs extra time, staff may ask you to pause in designated zones to let other guests pass — ensuring everyone enjoys the show safely.

🔹 Service or ESA Animals

Certified service animals and ESA Animals are welcome in outdoor and common areas including merchandise and photo spots.

Due to intense effects inside the haunted attraction—including strobe lights, loud noises, fog, tight spaces, and sudden actor movement—the environment is not appropriate for most service animals. For their safety and comfort, we strongly encourage guests to make arrangements for their animal’s care during their visit. Please note that emotional support animals (ESAs), therapy animals, and pets are not permitted inside the attraction or common areas, as they are not recognized as service animals under the ADA. We are unable to provide animal supervision or pet-sitting services on-site.

🔹 Tickets, Accommodations & Solutions

You can purchase tickets online or at the venue. If you or a member of your party needs accommodations, we recommend emailing us at least 48 hours in advance so we can best prepare for your visit.

If mobility limitations prevent you from participating in the experience, our team will work to offer you a solution.
