5: Black Cat Cross Your Path

It has long been regarded as unlucky if a black cat crosses your path. It is not only unlucky, it is considered very bad luck, even an omen of doom. As far as even being a demon in disguise, trying to cut off your access to heaven. Beware if a black cat crosses your path!

4: Walking Underneath a Ladder

This has its basis in Christianity. Many Christians believe in the Trinity. (Made up of 3 parts: God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost). A triangle also being comprised of 3 parts, is held sacred and a ladder leaning up against a building creates a triangle. Walking under the ladder and through the triangle is seen as breaking the trinity, therefore, being in league with the Devil.

3: Don’t Break a Mirror

Breaking a mirror is believed to bring 7 years of bad luck. This myth started because of how expensive and rare mirror’s use to be, they tried to scare the youth into being extra careful around them.

2: Opening an Umbrella Inside

If you open an umbrella inside then bad luck will “rain” upon you. This superstition dates back to the time of the Egyptians where it was believed that opening an umbrella indoors would offend the sun god.

Friday the 13th has long been regarded as an unlucky day. The facts of its origins are uncertain. Though the number 13 is generally believed to be unlucky, and the day Friday is believed to be an unlucky day to start projects and leave on trips. Thus, Friday the 13th is doubly unlucky. Many people avoid going out, and there are less people on the roads. Many Haunted houses have special openings to celebrate this eerie day.
